Earth Day 2009
Wow! It's been over a year since I last left
some news on my little website!
The end result of the craziest year of my life is
that Simba and I sold up and moved back to
Bucerias on New Year's Day! Since then, Simba
has reached the grand old age of ten, and my 60th
year promises to be the best ever.
I have added a few new photos to my "Life and
Loves in Latin America" album, and have created a
new one to keep you up to date with where I'm
living now.
I have my old job back at the Royal Decameron
resort, teaching English to the executives there,
and rush back home each day to pick up Simba for
his walk on the beach before a light supper.
Ahhh, bliss!
At this time of year, most gringos are heading
back North to beat the heat, but Simba and I,
along with about 50 other die-hard foreigners
will soon welcome the rainy season with it's
spectacular thunderstorms and warm showers. The
last time I remember being caught in a storm, I
was swept off me feet and carried almost a whole
block on the rushing water before being dumped
unceremoniously into the ocean! Actually, it was
kind of fun and terrifying at the same time!
Around 5 p.m. each day during the rainy season,
we experience true torrential rain for about an
hour. Then the sun comes out again, sparkling on
th leaves of grateful trees, and causing all the
birds to ruffle their feathers and resume their
raucous chatter.
Only a month or so to go now. Let's just hope I
don't end up on my ample posterior in the ocean
this year!
